LAKE MICHIGAN

is the only Great Lake that is not shared with Canada. Its 360 degrees of thousands of miles of coastline lies entirely within the United States border. The lake itself is surrounded by Wisconsin, Michigan, Indiana and Illinois thus derives the name the Wischiananois 360.  It can be considered a

geographical wonder because of its many unique qualities such as the reversal of the flow of the Chicago River and more.

THE MACKINAC BRIDGE

completed in 1957, links the Lower Peninsula at Mackinac City to the city of St. Ignace in the Upper Peninsula.  It is one of the most famous suspension bridges in the world.  This five miles of concrete wonder is closed to motorist for 4 hours every Labor Day for the Annual Bridge Walk, the first Monday of the month of September. It's not the usual I-75 highway traffic that you'd normally see throughout the year.

  In 2007 Harriet Tubman's Underground Railroads were designated national bicycle trails.  When I learned of this news I was listening to a local Chicago radio station as they jokingly  stated, "Ain't no black man going to ride 2100 miles," I just laughed to myself.

  Soon the bigbikefun schedule will include Harriet Tubman's Underground Railroad's longest route of 2100 miles (6 states and Canada) in 30 days.
