Last year Harriet Tubman's Underground Railroads were designated national bicycle trails. When I learned of this news I was listening to a local Chicago radio station as they jokingly stated, "Ain't no black man going to ride 2100 miles," I just laughed to myself. This year the bigbikefun expedition will include Harriet Tubman's longest route. This 2100 mile route combined with the Lake Michigan loop of approximately 1000 miles, plus a connecting route of 700 miles will total somewhere in the neighborhood of about 3800 miles in 31 days. We will leave Mobil, Alabama on August 1, and end in Chicago, Illinois on August 31, 2008.
